JESS RODEN – Song 3 off his album Anthology

A short clip to a previously unheard tune, originally recorded for JR’s first – post Bronco – solo album which, by and large, was aborted when the adventure of The Butts Band cropped up and a year or so before more concrete plans were laid for what became the real first solo album.

Musicians are: JR – acoustic guitar and vocals:  John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick – keyboards: Mike Kellie  – drums: Pat Donaldson – bass.
Written by Jess Roden. Recorded at Basing St in London in February 1972. Produced by John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick and engineered by Richard Digby-Smith.
Two versions of Song 3 will appear on Hidden Masters | The Jess Roden Anthology

Jess Roden in BRONCO playing Sudden Street off his album Anthology

A short clip of Bronco’s Sudden St — with the sound-bed being a previously unheard, very early rough mix of the song. It features the only known footage of the band recording at Basing St during the Summer of 1971. The version of ‘Lazy Now‘ right at the end of the clip is taken from one of the first instrumental / demo takes as the band started working up the song itself.

Newly re-mastered versions of both songs are on Hidden Masters | The Jess Roden Anthology
